Today I've remembered these 2 rhymes that I used to sing as a kid....
Popeye the sailor man
He lives in a caravan
There's a hole in the middle
Where the dog did a piddle
He's Popeye the sailor man
Popeye the sailor man
He lives in a caravan
He likes to go swimming
With bare naked women
He's Popeye the sailor man
Do you find that you actually remember more of this stuff as you get older? I'm certainly finding that - maybe to do with the fact I now have kids?
ReplyDeleteCould barely recall my childhood through my twenties and now tonnes of stuff is coming back.
Typical example - I found myself watching Innerspace (rubbish Dennis Quaid sci-fi movie but a fave when I was a kid) on the telly the other day. I haven't seen it for 20 years or so but I found myself recalling really tiny details or dialogue. I must have been a real geek as a kid!
YES indeed, I'm recalling more & more childhood things than I used to. I'm using my blog as a way of keeping track what (the hell) I remembered, and when.
ReplyDeleteSomeone might find it useful, one day, in the future, someday, possibly.
