I'm only making this point because I know a fellow blogger has issues here.
Parsnips can be deceptive.
When presented with a Sunday roast with vegetables, roasted parsnips and potatoes look very similar indeed.
I used to fall foul of forking a 'potato' and getting a 'parsnip'. At the time, I didn't like roasted parsnips - they just weren't right.
Since growing monster parsnips on my allotment, I've accepted them into my hectic life. Now I always make sure that potatoes and parsnips are cut very differently so that know what I'm getting every time.
